SteadyForge is built by David Hildebrand, a solo Android developer based in Cape Town, South Africa. It's not backed by a VC round or a team of 50 — it's built with care by someone who's frustrated with gym apps that are either too simple to be useful, or so bloated they get in the way of actually training.

Your workout data lives on your device and never leaves it. We use Google Sign-In only to protect your purchases across devices — no workout logs stored in the cloud, no data sold, no ads.

Performance over polish

The app uses a high-performance local database (ObjectBox) so your history and exercise library load instantly. You shouldn't wait for a spinner between sets. We care obsessively about this.

Honest monetisation

No dark patterns. No 3-day trials followed by a $20/month wall. The free tier is genuinely useful. Plus is a one-time payment. Pro is a subscription but cancel anytime — no tricks.

Focus on what matters

We don't add features for the sake of a feature list. SteadyForge does workout logging, progress tracking, planning, and AI coaching. It doesn't have a social feed, challenges, streaks, or a leaderboard.

Priced in USD with affordability in mind. The app is built in South Africa and we know not everyone has Silicon Valley purchasing power. The free tier is substantive by design.
